Isolate the circuit before cleaning. Wipe the acrylic heads with a soft damp cloth and dry them, keeping abrasive pads and limescale sprays away, because both craze acrylic. The black frame takes a dry cloth. The LED chips are integrated, so there is nothing to re-lamp, and the driver is sealed.

About this product
A black LED vanity bar in two, four or six lights, from 32cm to 104.5cm.
Dimmable, dust-proof, fog-proof and moisture-proof, with an adjustable light direction and up to 2340 lumens.
A modern LED vanity bar with square heads on a matte black frame, sold in two, four and six light sizes.
Every size uses the same 6000K cool white output and the same 120-chip SMD 2835 LED build, so the only thing that changes with size is the length and the amount of light.
The heads adjust, so you can aim the light at the mirror, at the room, or somewhere between.
It is built for bathroom conditions: an electroplated and sealed frame that is dust-proof, fog-proof, anti-corrosion and moisture-proof, running on a waterproof IC driver.
It is hardwired with no switch or plug on the fitting, so it mounts straight onto an electrical box and runs from your existing bathroom switch.
This is the vanity bar to buy when you want to choose the length rather than take what fits. Two lights at 32cm suits a cloakroom mirror, four at 65cm a standard vanity, and six at 104.5cm a double basin or a wide mirror where anything shorter looks lost.
Light output scales with the size and it is worth reading before you choose. The 2 light gives 1040 lumens from 16 watts, the 4 light 1596 lumens from 32 watts, and the 6 light 2340 lumens from 48 watts. All three run at 6000K, a cool white, with a colour rendering index above 80 and a 120 degree beam.
The heads adjust. That is the feature people underuse: pointed at the mirror the fitting fills shadows on a face, pointed at the room it becomes general bathroom light, and most people end up somewhere in between.
Construction is aimed squarely at bathroom air. The metal frame is electroplated and sealed, described by the maker as dust-proof, fog-proof, anti-corrosion and moisture-proof, and the driver is a waterproof IC type. The acrylic shade is rugged rather than brittle, and it diffuses evenly instead of throwing a hot spot.
It is hardwired, with no switch and no plug on the fitting itself. It mounts on an electrical box and connects to the reserved wires directly, so it runs from whatever switch your bathroom already has.
The LED is integrated at up to 50,000 hours, which is roughly eleven years at three hours a day. There is nothing to re-lamp, and at the end of that life the fitting is replaced rather than repaired.
Still deciding?
Not sure yet? That is fine.
You can change your mind. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you have 14 days from delivery to cancel for any reason, and a further 14 days to send it back in resaleable condition. We refund the price you paid, including standard delivery.
If it turns up faulty, damaged or not as described, that is on us. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 covers you, we pay the return postage, and you can have a repair, a replacement or your money back. Read the full detail on our refunds and returns page, or ask us anything before you order.
Two light, four light and six light. Pick the size above the Add to Cart button and the price changes with it.
How long is each size?
The 2 light is 32cm, the 4 light is 65cm and the 6 light is 104.5cm.
What do the three sizes cost?
2 light £79, 4 light £139, 6 light £169.
How bright is each size?
1040 lumens on the 2 light, 1596 on the 4 light and 2340 on the 6 light.
How much power does each size use?
16W, 32W and 48W respectively.
Which size suits my mirror?
Aim for a fitting around two thirds to three quarters of the mirror width. Roughly: 2 light for a 45cm to 60cm mirror, 4 light for 85cm to 100cm, 6 light for 140cm or a double basin.
What colour temperature is it?
6000K cool white on every size. That is close to daylight, which is what you want at a mirror.
Can I get it in warm white?
No. The LED is integrated at 6000K and cannot be changed.
Is there a bulb to replace?
No. The LED chips are built in, rated to around 50,000 hours.
Can I aim the light?
Yes. The light direction is adjustable, so the heads can point at the mirror, at the room, or between the two.
Is it dimmable?
The maker describes the fitting as dimmable. You would need a dimmer switch compatible with an integrated LED driver, which is not supplied. Ask your electrician to confirm compatibility before fitting one.
Is it safe in a bathroom?
It is built for bathroom air, with an electroplated and sealed frame described as dust-proof, fog-proof, anti-corrosion and moisture-proof, and a waterproof IC driver. UK bathrooms are also zoned by proximity to the bath and shower, so ask your electrician which zone your wall sits in.
Can it go directly over a shower?
No. Sealed against moisture is not the same as rated for direct spray. Keep it above the basin.
What is the beam angle?
120 degrees, which is wide enough to light a face without a hot spot.
What is Ra greater than 80?
It is the colour rendering index. Above 80 means colours look close to how they do in daylight, which matters at a mirror.
What is it made of?
A matte black metal frame with an acrylic shade.
Is there a switch on the fitting?
No. It is hardwired with no switch or plug, and runs from your bathroom's existing switch.
How is it installed?
It mounts on an electrical box and connects to the reserved wires directly.
Can I fit it myself?
Electrical work in a UK bathroom is regulated. Use a qualified electrician.
What comes in the box?
One vanity lamp, one set of screws and one installation instruction, per fitting.
What input voltage does it take?
85 to 265V at 50 or 60Hz, so the UK 230V supply is within range.
How long will the LED last?
Up to 50,000 hours, which is around eleven years at three hours a day.
Can it go in a bedroom?
Yes. The maker lists bedrooms, hotels and offices as well as bathrooms. Over a dressing table it works well.
Does it come in white or chrome?
This one is matte black only.
Will the acrylic yellow?
Acrylic discolours with heat, which is one reason a 16W to 48W LED is a better bet behind it than a hot lamp.
How do I clean it?
Isolate the circuit, then a soft damp cloth on the acrylic heads and a dry cloth on the frame. No abrasive pads and no limescale spray, because both craze acrylic.
How long does delivery take?
5 to 7 days in the UK, after a 24 to 48 hour handling time.
How much is delivery?
Free on orders of £100 or more, which covers the 4 and 6 light. The 2 light at £79 is under the threshold, so express delivery would be £30 unless you order more.
Can I change my mind after it arrives?
Yes. It is a stock item, so you have 14 days from delivery to cancel and a further 14 days to send it back.
How does it compare to the black vanity light?
The black vanity light is one continuous 61cm bar at £79 with 1250 lumens and an IP44 rating. This one comes in three lengths with separate square heads you can aim, and the 6 light is far brighter at 2340 lumens.
The complete guide
Buying Guide
6 min readModern Light Company
Choosing between two, four and six lights
The temptation is to buy the longest one. Resist it until you have measured the mirror,
because a vanity bar that overhangs the glass looks like a mistake and a short one looks
like an accident.
The measurement that decides it
Take the mirror width and aim for a fitting two thirds to three quarters of it.
A 45cm to 60cm cloakroom mirror takes the 2 light at 32cm.
A standard 85cm to 100cm vanity mirror takes the 4 light at 65cm.
A 140cm mirror or a double basin takes the 6 light at 104.5cm.
Brightness follows length
The three sizes are not the same light in different lengths. The 2 light gives 1040
lumens, the 4 light 1596, and the 6 light 2340. In a small cloakroom the 2 light is
plenty. In a large bathroom with dark tiles, the 6 light is doing real work and the 4
light would leave you reaching for the ceiling light as well.
Aim the heads
The adjustable direction is the part most people never touch, and it is the difference
between a good mirror light and a great one. Angled slightly towards the mirror, the
light bounces back and fills the shadows on a face. Angled up, the same fitting becomes
soft ambient light for a bath. Set it once when it goes up, and then again a week later
once you have used the room.
Bathrooms and the electrician
Sealed against fog and moisture is a genuine build specification, and it is why this
fitting belongs above a basin rather than in a bedroom. It is still not a substitute for
UK bathroom zoning rules, which govern what may be installed at what distance from a
bath or shower. Have a qualified electrician do the installation and confirm the zone.
Every product page lists the measurement that decides it. Tell us the space you are working with and we will tell you straight whether this is the right thing for it. Free UK delivery on orders over £100.
