Isolate the power at the consumer unit before cleaning or changing a bulb. Dust the wood with a dry cloth. Do not use a wet cloth or a spray polish on the timber: this is a finished rustic wood, and water sitting on it will raise the grain. The matte black metal wipes with a barely damp cloth and should be dried straight away, because matte finishes water-mark.

Kitchen islands are long and light fittings are usually round, which is why so many kitchens end up with a bright middle and dark ends. A 90cm bar with four separate lamps fixes that by spreading the sources along the run instead of concentrating them.
The frame is openwork rather than solid: wood and metal forming an outline, so you see through it rather than at it. Over an island that matters, because a solid shade at eye level blocks the view across the kitchen from the seating side.

Rod-hung bars need a level mounting. On a sloped ceiling you would need a sloped-ceiling adaptor, which is not supplied.

No. There is no IP rating, so keep it to dry rooms.

Yes, as long as the bar is at least as long as the fitting. Over a short bar, a single pendant usually looks better.

Why a bar beats a bowl over an island
The mistake almost every kitchen makes is a round fitting over a rectangular worktop.
Light falls off with distance, so a single central source leaves the ends of a two metre
island noticeably darker than the middle. Four lamps spread along 90cm of bar fixes the
geometry rather than compensating for it with more wattage.
Setting the height
Two numbers matter. From the ceiling, the rods give you 29.5cm, 60cm, 90cm or 105cm.
From the worktop, aim for 75cm to 90cm of clearance to the bottom of the fitting. On a
standard 2.4m ceiling those two constraints usually land you on the 60cm or 90cm rod
combination. Work it out with a tape before you cut the power, because changing rods
afterwards means taking the fitting down again.
Bulbs are part of the design here
An openwork frame has nothing to hide the lamp behind, so the bulb is visible from
every seat in the room. Filament-style LEDs in E26 look right and stay cool. Avoid
naked high-output bulbs at eye level over a seating side of the island, because
whatever is bright and unshaded at 1.6m is glare rather than lighting.
Dimming it
An island does two jobs, and they want different light. Full output for preparation,
about a third for eating. Dimmable E26 bulbs plus a dimmer rated for LED loads gives
you both from the one fitting, and the maximum compatible wattage of 240W leaves plenty
of headroom.
