Power off at the wall and let the bulbs cool first. Dust the frame and the prisms with a dry microfibre cloth. A black finish shows dust more than a bright one, so a quick monthly dust keeps it looking new. Fit the bulbs before hanging the crystals when you assemble it, and check the chain link is closed properly after any height change.

Most crystal chandeliers announce themselves as traditional, because the frame is bright metal and the shape is a candle arm. This one does not. The prisms are the same clear glass, but they hang off a plain round frame in black finished iron, and that single change moves the whole fitting into a modern room.
It is a two-tier design, so the prisms sit at two heights and the light passes through both. That gives more depth than a single ring at the same width, and it is why 54.9cm across can hold its own over a dining table without sprawling.
Bulbs are included, which is unusual and worth flagging. They are E12, 4000K, which is a neutral white rather than a warm one. If you want the room warmer, swap them for 2700K E12 bulbs; the fitting takes dimmable LED, energy saving and halogen alike.
The chain is 101.6cm and adjustable, which covers a standard ceiling with room to spare and a taller one without an extension.
Basic assembly is needed and the instruction manual is in the box. The advice that saves the most time is the same as on any crystal fitting: get the bulbs in first, hang the crystals last.

Can it hang over a stairwell?
Yes, if the chain gives you the drop you need. At 101.6cm it suits a standard or slightly raised ceiling rather than a double-height void.
What size table does it suit?
At 54.9cm across it sits well over a table from about 90cm to 120cm wide.
How high should it hang over a table?
Bottom of the fitting 75 to 85cm above the table top is the usual guide.

Do I need a special ceiling rose?
A sound standard rose is usually fine. If the existing one is loose or old, replace it while the light is down.
How do I clean it?
Power off, let it cool, then dust the frame and prisms with a dry microfibre cloth. Black finishes show dust, so do it monthly.
Will the black finish chip?
Treat it as you would any painted metal. Do not use abrasive cleaners, and lift by the frame rather than the crystals.

Modern crystal, and why the frame decides it
Crystal has a reputation for being traditional, and that reputation comes from the
frame rather than the glass. Put the same prisms on polished chrome with candle arms
and you get a period fitting. Put them on a plain black ring and they read as an
object, not an heirloom.
Two tiers, and what they buy you
Splitting five lamps across two heights does two useful things. The prisms catch light
at two levels, so the fitting has depth when you look up at it. And the light source is
spread vertically rather than in one flat plane, which softens the shadow it casts on a
table below.
The bulbs it ships with
This fitting arrives with bulbs, which most do not. They are E12 at 4000K, a neutral
white. That suits a kitchen or a hallway. In a dining room, most people prefer warmer,
so budget for a set of 2700K E12 LED candle bulbs if that is where it is going. The
fitting takes dimmable LED, energy saving and halogen equally, so the choice is
genuinely open.
Hanging it
The chain is 101.6cm and adjustable. Over a dining table, aim for the bottom of the
fitting 75 to 85cm above the table top. In a hallway, keep it at least 2.1m off the
floor. It is a hardwired mains fitting, so isolate the circuit before you start, and
call an electrician if that sentence is not routine for you.
