Bend the copper wires slowly and only when you first set them up. Copper work-hardens, so repeated reshaping of the same strand is what eventually breaks it. Wipe the solar panel monthly. In winter, either lift them or shake snow off the wires, because a burst full of wet snow will droop and stay drooped.

Copper wire lights, and why they look different
Most garden lights put out a beam. These put out a hundred and twenty separate points on
fine wire, which the eye reads as a texture rather than a source. That is why a burst
looks like something in the garden rather than like a lamp lighting the garden.
Shape it once
The copper is the feature and the fragile part. Bend the strands into whatever you want
on the day you put them in, and then leave them. Copper work-hardens: each bend at the
same point makes it stiffer and closer to snapping. Setting a shape once and living with
it is how a set of these lasts for years.
Two modes, two different jobs
Twinkling is the mode people buy it for and the one to use where the light is seen from
a distance, from the kitchen window or across a lawn. Steady is the mode for right next
to where people sit, because flicker at two metres becomes distracting rather than
magical.
Put them where the panel gets sun
The same rule as every solar light. The place you want the effect and the place with the
best sun are not always the same, and on this design the panel is fixed to the stake, so
sun wins. If the spot you want is shaded, the solar spot light with its independently
tilting panel is the fitting that solves that problem.
Snow
The one real weakness. Fine copper wire holds wet snow and droops under it. If a heavy
fall is forecast, shake them out or lift them for a week. Everything else British
